February 14 Birthday
February 14 is Valentine's Day, named after a saint about whom almost nothing is reliably known. The romantic association with the date appears first in Geoffrey Chaucer's 14th-century poetry, where birds choose their mates on this day. The connection may have been entirely literary invention — there is no evidence of romantic Valentine traditions before Chaucer. The massacre that shares the date took place in 1929, when seven men were lined up against a garage wall in Chicago and shot by men dressed as police officers. The killings were Al Capone's elimination of a rival gang. People born on February 14 fall under the zodiac sign of Aquarius. The birthstone is Amethyst and the birth flower is Violet.
